Who We Are

We are here to make the whole of life an adventure, by being the best place in Weston for children to play together and grow in confidence.

In fact, because The Venny has some of the best facilities in Weston, it has the potential to become a hub for families and the whole community, not just its children.

The people we serve are fighting to do well in life, but often face the challenges of social disadvantage, poverty, and lack of educational opportunities.

Are you after a great location for a party, a meeting or a youth event?

The Venny is a fantastic community building. 

So why not support our work by booking a private function?

The Venny is a great place to hold social events, family gatherings, and children’s parties. 

Our outdoor and indoor facilities are excellent and available to hire at very affordable rates.

(Starting at only £20 an hour!)

Weston Adventure Playground, known locally as The Venny, is one of the best and most versatile community buildings in Weston. 

Set in woodland, and of genuine architectural merit, the Venny is a truly outstanding resource for the people of Weston.

Boasting of an outside adventure playground area, an enclosed multi use games area for football and other team sports, a long slide, zipwire, and a sand pit.

It also has a large indoor hall, equipped with games consoles, crafting areas, pool table, table football, air hockey.

Large outdoor play equipment such as pedal powered go carts, pogo sticks, and skittles, are also available to users - and are a real hit with the children!

Weston Church Youth Project

The Weston Church Youth Project started life over 25 years ago as a ministry of Holy Trinity Weston, the local parish church. The project is now registered as a separate charitable incorporated organisation and serves the young people of Weston through four distinct but related programmes: fun, achieve, engage and faith.

The fun programme offers activities, trips and open access youth clubs which promote community, social skills, and mutual respect.

The engage programme runs projects and activities where young people can learn new skills and gain valuable life experiences.

The achieve programme delivers targeted work with local schools, addressing issues affecting attendance, self-worth and behaviour.

The faith programme helps interested young people to explore the claims of Jesus Christ through Christian clubs, groups and events.

Many of WCYP’s activities take place at the Venny.

Holy trinity church, weston

Holy Trinity is the local Anglican (CofE) church in Weston. 

They believe in serving the people of Weston by investing their time, money and talents in the local community. 

Supporting the work of the Venny is one of the ways they seek to express this commitment.

Since its humble beginnings in the 1970s the Venny has always been a grass roots charity: run by local people, used by local people, and often supported financially by local people. Booking the Venny for a private function is a great way to offer your financial support.

Southampton Children's Play Association

SCPA was established in 1973. 

They provide organised play activities through holiday play schemes and after school junior clubs for children aged 5 and over throughout the City of Southampton, including the Venny. 

SCPA believes that every child has a right to freely chosen play, so all their projects are free of charge and open access.

The Venny is a solid, reliable, high quality, community facility where this adventure really can begin.

This is why we believe we must engage with our community, improve our facilities, and create these opportunities for our children.

When we do this, we will make it possible for the children of our community to grow in confidence and embrace life by having mini-adventures every single week.

But imagine if every child in Weston had the confidence to embrace life for the adventure that it is.
